Recipe from Lynn's Kitchen Adventures
I've been meatless for about a month & a half & doing totally fine but this just made me hungry.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn 't but you could do this with veggie broth instead of chicken broth and a bag of boca crumbles or gimmee lean meatless sausage. Or even just tempeh put through the food processor to crumble it.
DeleteMaking mine right now! Smells amazing. I never thought of using chicken broth but i always have some on hand from when i make a whole chicken in my crock! Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteHappened to find this recipe on Pinterest this past week. Ran to the commissary this morning to pick-up all the ingredients so we can have this for dinner today since nobody in my house could decide what they wanted. This is currently cooking on my stove and my house smells wonderful. Going to browse through all your other recipes to see what else we can add to our menu. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful dish I came across on Pinterest. My family loves spaghetti. I decided to double the recipe for lunches later in the week and didn't have the right amount of spaghetti sauce, so I added a can of diced tomatoes and a can of sloppy joe mix. Needless to say, we don't have any leftovers and we are soooo full. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful! The best spaghetti I have ever made. Great recipe and even better that the cleanup was so little.
ReplyDeleteThis was absolutely the best! The flavor was amazing and everyone in my family gobbled it right up! Even the usually picky eaters...:)
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I will never make spaghetti any other way and I make spaghetti a lot!
ReplyDeleteSo good! Just finished dinner and loved it!
ReplyDeleteHow many servings does this make?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
@HaleyHolden - 8 oz. spaghetti serves 4, so to be safe I would say this serves 4 people.
ReplyDeleteI made this last night, and we LOVED it! I really liked the one pot aspect of the recipe. One pot spaghetti
ReplyDeleteis going to be one of my "go to" recipes from now on!
Yummy! I made this for the second time today. My whole family loved it each time! I used whole wheat spaghetti and it turned out great. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteVery good!!! Thank you!! I cooked the meat with peppers and onions! Only had a big container of broth so i did about 10-11 oz measured out and i didn't have to add any liquid. Used whole wheat noodles! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCan you use dried minced garlic and if so how much?
ReplyDelete@Jninde - absolutely! I know for garlic powder, 1/4 tsp. equals 1 clove. A lot of spice jars will have the equivalent on the label, if not, I say start out with 1/4 tsp.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say one can of chicken broth, what size of can? Is that just a 16 oz. or do you use a large 32 oz.?
ReplyDelete@Mindika - the regular 16 oz. size can :)
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I never thought to just cook the noodles IN the sauce. Why dirty the other big pasta pot. DUH!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really easy and a great idea but I would feel guilty, like I was cheating! I am 100% Italian and I cook my sauce for 6 hours and make each step separately.....gotta try it though! check here for my one pan chicken parm http://musingsofavintagejunkie.blogspot.com/2013/02/easy-peasy-chicken-parm.html
ReplyDeleteAww mine is much too thick, and I didn't drain the meat! I have added 2 extra cups water but I'm afraid if I add more it will dilute the flavor :-/
ReplyDeleteI've made this three times since we've found this recipe! I absolutely love it! It's easy and when my husband and I are in a pasta mood it completely satisfies. Thank you for posting!
ReplyDelete@Frizzi Ninja - I don't think that a little more water would hurt it. If you have any bouillion in the house, you could add a little of it with however much water you add.
ReplyDeleteI just made this cause tonight is our poker night and we always need quick easy meals before we go out. I used Ziti noodles, green peppers, and mushrooms instead of the onions and ground beef. I also added in 4oz of shredded mozzarella when it was all done. My fiance HATES pasta night, and he says this is amazing and I should make it like this more often. I completely agree...so much easier than having to drain everything and making more dishes. Fantastic! Thanks for such a great idea :)
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried this using rice or corn noodles? This sounds so nummy...but we need it to be GF.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea. I hate waiting for water to boil when cooking spaghetti! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi, I just made this and it was amazing. I made it a second time and changed it up a little. I used Angle hair pasta (16oz box), I added a can of diced tomatoes, it turned out just as perfect as the first time. The chicken broth really brings out the flavor and it tasted really moist.

Hi! I just made this for dinner tonight and I'm happy to report that it was a hit! My husband was the happiest considering he is the one that does the dishes! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI can't use ground beef, my husband can't have red meat anymore, doctor's orders. I use a lot of ground turkey and I know that will be fine but what about ground pork? A pound of that was cheaper than the turkey but I've never used pork, what do you think?
ReplyDeletePinteresnut - It will most likely work just as well. I personally made this with chunks of chicken because I'm pregnant and ground beef doesnt agree with me now. I also threw in green pepper and mushroom and kept out the onion.
ReplyDeletePinterestnut-I make spaghetti with ground pork all the time,it's good! Ive also used ground pork sausage which is my husbands favorite!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and simple idea..I cannot wait to try this on one of the days I get home late from work. I will be sure to link your blog when I make this! I would love if you would check my blog out as well http://shansthecollegecookbook.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteMade this tonight and OMG it was so good and OH SO EASY!! The whole family loved it. I doubled the recipe and put half ground beef and half italian sausage. It was amazing! Thank you for the recipe!
ReplyDeletekaydee.banks@yahoo.com
This was really easy and delicious.I added some italian herbs and a bit of sugar to give it an extra bite.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried it with beef broth?
ReplyDeleteThis was a great dish. I was a little weary at first, but I'm glad I tried it. I used chicken sausage and added about a cup of fresh kale in the last 10 minutes for some extra nutrients. I'll be making it again for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis should work just fine in a crock pot also after browning the ground beef.
ReplyDelete@Peanutsmom - I haven't tried it with beef broth, but I bet it's just as good!
ReplyDelete@Allison C - kale sounds amazing in it! I'll have to keep that in mind next time we make it :)
Do you think this could be made in slow cooker for several hours and be ok?
ReplyDeleteI made this for supper tonight. Yummy and Easy. I am adding this to my arsenal of weeknight suppers.
ReplyDeleteMaking this right now! I always mess up on the times like the pasta is ready but I've forgotten to put the sauce on! Cooking it in one pot eliminates my forgetfulness!!
ReplyDeleteIt smells amazing! I can't wait to try it!
I've tried this on a much smaller, simpler scale lol. Chicken flavor ramen with some spaghetti sauce. It's actually really good.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm trying this tonight! I'm sure it'll turn out amazing :)
This was delicious! Just finished eating this for dinner. I don't know if I'm more excited about how great it tasted, or that I only have ONE pot to clean lol. Thanks for the recipe! :) The whole family loved it- even my picky 4 year old, who usually likes her spaghetti "naked" ;).
ReplyDeleteI reviewed this recipe (and adapted it to our liking) on my new review blog - Mommy & Tots. I did link back to you as well!
ReplyDeletehttp://mommyntots.blogspot.com/2013/04/recipe-review-one-pot-spaghetti_24.html
Love this recipe! One pot makes it so easy, less clean up and I love the flavor with the chicken broth. My only way of making spaghetti from now on :)
