Perfect French Fries

Lately, I have been making so many things homemade that I am ruining prepared food. My mom-in-law always teased me because I was particular about Ore Ida fries. I could only eat them. I didn't like off brand, generic ones at all. Since making Kamikaze fries, I have been turning up my nose at my old favorite frozen fries and turning to making them homemade. They take longer to make, but they are way better.
Perfect French Fries - a classic #fries recipe sure to make everyone happy!

What you need:
  • Potatoes
  • Sea salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil
Directions:
Slice potatoes into fries and pat dry.

Heat 2 inches of oil to 350* in a large pot.
Fry in batches for about 4 to 5 minutes. Then let drain on a paper towel.

Increase oil to 400* and fry a second time until the fries are golden brown. Drain on paper towel.

Season with salt and pepper.

  1. So the two-step frying process really works huh? That would make it a great freezer item. Fry once, flash freeze, then fry them a second time when you want some. I'll have to test that theory and find out.
