I have been obsessing over my mom-in-law's stroganoff for years. I never liked it until I tried hers. I can never get her recipe just right, so I was on the lookout for something that would be close enough and this one was it. It just takes me "home", so to speak, as I lived with my in laws off and on since I was 18. It's very much a comfort food!

What you need:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 tsp. garlic
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- Salt and pepper
- Egg noodles, cooked
Brown ground beef; drain and set aside.
Melt butter in skillet and cook onions until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Add flour and stir until smooth.
Slowly add beef broth and stir until smooth. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Turn down to medium heat and add sour cream and soup.
Season with salt and pepper and add beef back in.
Top cooked egg noodles with sauce.
