Maple Bacon Burgers

Maple Bacon Burgers | www.fantasticalsharing.com | #burger #bacon #beer #maple

These burgers were another deployment experiment. I wanted to see how good they would be before I made them for Nick when he got home. I've yet to make them since he did get back from deployment, but they are definitely on the list.

Nick has this obsession with maple. So maple + bacon + beer = a happy husband. The burgers were really delicious and even with the crappy college beer, the beer made them so good! I really would love to try this recipe with a maple porter. I think it'd be a fabulous beer to have with the maple bacon :)

What you need:
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup beer (I used a cheap ole Coors Light I found in the fridge)
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • Ground pepper
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of maple bacon, cooked
  • Hamburger buns
Directions:
  1. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, beer, Worcestershire, maple syrup, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties with a thumb imprint in the center.
  2. Cook on a grill or in a skillet until browned on both sides (only flipping one time) and cooked all the way through. In the last minute of cooking on the final side, add a piece of cheese to each patty.
  3. Optional: Butter your hamburger buns and toast them in a skillet or on a griddle.
  4. Serve burgers on toasted or untoasted buns with 2 pieces of bacon for each burger and whatever additional toppings you like!
