Crockpot Lettuce Wraps

My husband sometimes is a little picky with how many carbs he consumes, so I've been trying to find little shortcuts - like this one. Instead of a taco shell or a tortilla, you use lettuce. :) I didn't really "wrap" these - the flavor was kind of interesting. I've never had balsamic vinegar and was curious to how it would taste.

What you need:
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • Pinch of allspice
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • Large lettuce leaves, separated and rinsed
Directions:
Spread turkey on the bottom of crockpot.
Add onions and garlic on top.

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, water, vinegars, and allspice.

Pour over stuff in crockpot.

Cook on high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Break meat up and stir well. Cook for another 30 minutes to an hour.
Serve in lettuce leaves.

Thanks for sharing these at Must Try Monday. I love lettuce wraps, but haven't found a good recipe for them. I think I just did!
