Tasty Thursday #87: Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry

Welcome back to Tasty Thursday!!
Photobucket

I love stir frys - love them. So for my birthday in September I made stir fry for my birthday dinner. I meant to do it with green beans, like the original recipe did. But I guess I used up my green beans the night before.

Taco Crackers

We really liked ranch crackers and were totally on board for these ones :) I really want to try a batch with Italian dressing seasoning.

Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappe {Copycat}

It's time for another copycat! I've only had one sip of one of the real things. It was okay, but I wanted to learn how to make it at home because my husband liked it. The at-home version was SO much better. And it can be made all-year round. I'm not sure how Starbucks' schedule works or secret menu or what not, but that is just too much headache for me and too expensive. So making this at home is easy for your brain (as long as you don't drink it too quickly) and your wallet!

Secret Recipe Club: Asparagus Gruyere Tart

Secret Recipe Club

This month, my assigned blog was Fried Ice & Donut Holes. Melissa, who is a teacher by trade, started her food blog in 2009. I love the story behind her blog's name and she has some GREAT recipes, it was so hard for me to choose.

When I saw her Asparagus Gruyere Tart, I was on board. My husband had been begging for steak when he got home from visiting his family and seeing his little brother graduate from Basic Training. I thought this tart would be the perfect side (instead of having potatoes) and we just recently tried gruyere for the first time and absolutely love it!

Sunday Social #89

Photobucket

November is quickly coming to an end. We got our first snowfall yesterday night - luckily just a dusting. Christmas is coming so much faster than I anticipated. I'm afraid to blink! I'm gonna save my Thanksgiving recipes from this year for next year - around the end of October or beginning of November. I can't wait to share the turkey with y'all because it was incredible. Definitely the best out of the 3 turkeys I've made in my life. I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Tasty Treasures

Time to show off the most clicked from last week's Tasty Thursday!
Last week marked the most entries for TT to date - with 22. If you didn't get to see what was linked up, I strongly urge you to go there now! I hard such a hard time picking an eye-catcher out of this batch. The foodie blogs never cease to amaze me. Thank you all so much for linking up!

#1: Gingerbread Oreo Truffle Bark//Inside BruCrew Life

I'm definitely going to have to go on a quest to find the Gingerbread Oreos because this bark looks incredibly delicious. I never got to try their birthday funfetti edition because NY is lame.

#2: Funfetti Cookies//Just My Crazy Kitchen
I have made the ones from the cake mix, but honestly, these look way better.

#3: Chinese Pork Lettuce Wraps//Mrs Ellwood's Simple Life
My husband is finicky when it comes to pork. I think I could get away with making this one of his favorite meals. He loves using lettuce instead of carby tortillas.

The Eye-Catcher: MN Vikings Cake//Amy's Cooking Adventures

I was having trouble picking a favorite until I saw this cake. I've mentioned a few times that I was born and raised in Minnesota. I was raised a die-hard Vikings fan and even though I rarely get to catch a game on tv (because we're in NY), I bleed purple and gold. This cake is amazing!

Stop by next Thursday for the return of Tasty Thursday! Hope everyone had a super awesome and delicious Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

I am in love with pumpkin anything. I have an entirely too large hoarding collection of pumpkin recipes and I've been trying to make as many as possible while it is in season. Plus I have discovered that Matthew, my 5 year old, is a pumpkin fiend like his momma :)

This milkshake seriously does taste just like a pumpkin pie. It's incredibly rich and delicious!

Scandinavian Cucumbers

I grew up in Minnesota - I'm mostly Norwegian (probably a little German too, but mostly Norwegian). My great-great grandfather came from Norway over to America and settled in the area that became the town I grew up in. We all celebrated Norwegian holidays and I grew up eating a lot of typical Norwegian food. My mom made cucumbers like this allllllll the time. It was probably my absolute favorite way of eating them. They are kind of tangy and sweet at the same time :)

Italian Creme Cake Cupcakes

I had my first Italian Creme Cake in high school when one of my friends' mom made it - with fresh walnuts. It was magical. This recipe is actually a cake recipe, but it transferred pretty well over into a cupcake recipe. It made about 2 dozen cupcakes, give or take a few cupcakes that may have been eaten before cooled and frosted. I took these to the monthly FRG meeting and they were gone before I knew it! I added the sprinkles that look like little fragments of diamonds - they made these look extra cute!

Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Pasta

I really love trying new pasta dishes because I never ever get sick of pasta. I didn't really know what exactly to expect out of this one as far as flavor goes, but holy baloney! It was so packed full of flavor - there was a hint of bite, but it was rich and cheesy. Just the smell alone makes your mouth water. It is one of my new favorites and I cannot wait to make it again.

Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Pasta - dare you to eat just one bite of this cheesy pasta dish! #chicken #pasta #enchilada #dinner

**Sunday Social #88**

Photobucket

I am so excited for Thanksgiving this year. I'm preparing a bacon-wrapped turkey via Finding Joy in My Kitchen. Plus per request Andes Creamy Mint Brownies. We are heading over to our friends' house to celebrate. I will say that one amazing part of being in the military is that your friends become your family away from home and it is so much fun to celebrate holidays like Thanksgiving with them. If you are travelling this week, stay safe! I don't have anything scheduled for Thursday or Friday of this week, but I'll be back on Saturday with an awesome recipe :)

With Thanksgiving coming quickly, Christmas is not too far behind it. So here's some holiday-tastic treats I found this week:

Better than...Christmas Poke Cake from Something Swanky
Ohh I love all the different poke cakes that Ashton (and Nikki) have been posting lately. I really need to get my recipe up for one that I did after trying the original Better than... cake and not being fond of the Heath bits.

Ho Ho Punch from Allrecipes.com
