Counting down the best appetizer and snack recipes of 2020 to ring in the new year!
I hope everyone has had a happy winter holiday (I know some are over and some are just starting) and are staying safe! I'm really excited to begin the Countdown to 2021 today. I know we can all agree 2020 is trash and have high hopes that 2021 will be better.
I have decided to give myself a little bit of a break and post 3x a week in 2021 instead of trying to do 4x a week. I am stopping Menu Plan Monday after years of doing it. Basically, I'm turning my blog back into a hobby rather than work. Part of that transition also is no longer doing link ups at all.
So unfortunately, I did not organize the Countdown like in past years. However, if you are one of my blogging friends who have joined in in past years or you are a food blogger who wants to join in this year - please do! Feel free to leave your link in the comments to your round up posts. If you click the "countdown to" label at the bottom of this post, you will find past years' Countdown posts - this year follows the same schedule as the years past. Enough babbling, let's get down to the Best Appetizers and Snacks of 2020!
- Soft Pretzel Bites - I made these for NYE 2018 and we did some with cinnamon sugar and dunked the others in queso. They were really fantastic. Not too terrible to make.
- Quinoa Berry Parfaits - I keep putting parfaits on my meal plans because I love yogurt for a snack so much. I really enjoyed having not only fresh berries but the quinoa with my yogurt. I have been known to eat oatmeal with my yogurt, so this wasn't farfetched for me.
- Dill Pickle Cheeseball - I feel like 2019 food (which was blogged in 2020) was the year of trying all the dill pickle foods. This cheeseball is yummy!
- Caprese Tomato Salad - This is an appetizer/snack that we have made over and over and over since the first time we made it. It's really easy to make and addictive. That's all there is to it. I'm obsessed with tomatoes and basil and mozzarella. Just give me all the caprese.
- Cranberry Jalapeno Dip - Post-publishing Sarah here - oops! This dip is a fantastic dip that I made for Christmas 2019 in Florida (hence the garbage picture). It's sweet, tart, and a little spicy and is served on top of savory cream cheese with whatever dippers you want. We used pretzel crisps and I think that was the right choice!
