Countdown to 2021: Most Popular

Counting down the most popular recipes of 2020 to ring in the new year!

I don't get near as many views as I used to on my blog. I think personally that there are way too many food blogs and I think that people are just over them. I try to keep my words to a minimum and just get to the recipe - the part people want. I don't participate in clubs, groups, or link ups anymore. I'm not near as active at trying to get traffic because this was a hobby - it was never meant to be a job and I really don't have the time anymore to have it be anything more than a hobby. Who knows if these would have been the same if they were posted back in 2012? Still I find it fascinating what makes the list. But I definitely think I see what my niche is after viewing the results....copycat recipes. It seems like everyone was looking for copycats this year. Only 3 recipes were not copycats. These are in order of most viewed :)
  1. Copycat Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole - I made this and will admit, it's okay. I'm not really like super into it, but my kids liked it a lot and like I said, it's okay, so I posted it. I was surprised this was the most viewed.
  2. Copycat Pickle Pizza - We just had this recipe on the 18th and we make it regularly. The white garlic pizza sauce is insanely good and I just really love how easy it is to throw together. It's not from a chain restaurant, but it is based on a restaurant's pizza that I found a picture of.
  3. Steak 'N Shake Garlic Double Steakburgers - A pretty classic burger that my family enjoyed - especially since our local Steak 'N Shake is a little sketchy.
  4. Meat Lover's Sheet Pan Pizza - This is not a copycat but I am not surprised it's on the Most Popular list. It's a ridiculously good recipe and pizza. Lots of meat!
  5. Copycat Marion's Pizza - Pizzas did really well this year. I'm surprised this is on the list because it's another from not a chain restaurant. Marion's Piazza is an Ohio-based restaurant that I think has just a handful of locations. My husband grew up on it and I've been and it is a GREAT pizza.
  6. Copycat Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad - Another recipe I made at home because I love Chick-fil-A salads but I always have problems choosing what food I want to eat when I get Chick-fil-A. I love their salads, but I love the sandwiches too. So I'd rather make the salad at home.
  7. Copycat DQ Ice Cream Cake - I figured this would make this list of most viewed. How could it not?!
  8. Creme Caramel Squares - This recipe surprised me a little, as it's not anything crazy. It's a pudding dessert. But it's a really delicious pudding dessert, so I mean, it should be on the list.
  9. Applebee's Fiesta Lime Chicken Copycat - My sister-in-law requested this for her birthday dinner and I found a recipe for it. I have never had it in person but holy baloney, I will have to eventually. But until then, this copycat recipe will do.
  10. Cheeseburger Salad with Animal Sauce Dressing - This isn't a copycat but it has elements of copycatness. I love that there are mini burgers and the dressing is animal sauce (In 'N Out) based.
