Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is off of the Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chips bag. We made these for Santa. And Santa said they were AMAZING :] And you can take Santa's word for it, right?

What you need:
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (Dry)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda (Dry)
  • 1 tsp. salt (Dry)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12 oz.) Nestle Toll House semisweet chocolate morsels
Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Combine dry ingredients.

Beat together butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. I had to swipe the sides and clear the whisk several times. I'm not sure if my mother-in-law has a paddle attachment. And I don't think she was home at the time I made these. Hmm.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Unless you are me and are so excited to make the cookies and get distracted while taking pictures and add both in at the same time, start cursing and hope and pray to the cookie gods that you didn't just screw up Santa's cookies. :]

Gradually beat in flour mixture.

Find 2 super cute kids and put them to work. (Note: Fantastical Sharing does not endorse child labor. Nor were any children harmed in the making of these cookies) Stir in the chocolate chips.

Mmm. Sometimes I think the benefits of eating raw cookie dough outweigh the risks of e.coli and salmonella. (Note: Fantastical Sharing does not endorse eating raw eggs and catching infectious diseases. Try at your own risk :P)

Drop on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Tip: Take them out when they are slightly "undercooked" - when they don't look completely done, as they will continue to cook on the cookie sheet before you remove them to a wire rack to cool. You don't want to take them out when they look all the way done.

Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes.

Then remove to wire rack and guard with your life...

Otherwise you'll find them disappearing :]
