Haystacks

I grew up in an itty bitty town in Minnesota...itty bitty as in population of 350. It was very much a farming community and the surrounding areas were farms and fields and fields of corn. I participated in a program called 4H. Many times when we had meetings, we would do some kind of snack making. My favorite was making Haystacks. I actually haven't made them since I was in elementary school and thought it'd be a fun treat for my kids to eat :)

What you need:
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 6 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 1 to 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
Directions:

Stir peanut butter and chips together in a medium saucepan. Melt over low heat.
**Note: ignore the peanuts. I'm horrible at following directions.**

After completely melted, stir in noodles, peanuts, and marshmallows.

Drop on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Refrigerate or freeze until set.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
