Caramel Fudge Turtle Cookies

These turtle cookies are made with pouch sugar cookie mix - super easy and insanely good. They will not last long!

I have had this recipe saved for almost as long as I have had a blog which is coming up on 11 years in the summer time. In the beginning, I saved a lot of recipes from Betty Crocker and Kraft. A lot of these recipes use premade mixes, which is something I don't do as much anymore but I was so glad I got to do for these. They look a little intense but they are super easy to put together and then you get your treats faster. These did not last very long at all. They are small and so cute and completely addictive.

What you need:

  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 12 caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 cup hot fudge topping
  • 36 pecan halves

Directions:

  1. Make cookie dough according to package directions with the flour also mixed in.
  2. Roll into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on a parchment paper or silicone mat lined cookie sheet.
  3. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 11 to 12 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet then remove to a cooling rack.
  4. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave together caramels with milk in 30 second increments, stirring in between until smooth.
  5. Spoon a little caramel on top of each cookie followed by a teaspoon of hot fudge topping. Top with pecan half. Repeat with all cookies.
  6. Let sit about 15 minutes and serve!

If you have a little more time on your hands and really love chocolate, these Chocolate Turtle Cookies from The Bitterside of Sweet look so so good! One of my favorite appetizers of all time is this Turtle Cheeseball that you absolutely need to have with green apples.
