Bear with my story here because I made these in November...
For Halloween 2012, my husband was out of town and it was bitterly cold and raining. I decided that I would not take the kids trick-or-treating. I had that task two years ago while my husband was deployed and it was the worst Halloween ever. The kids weren't too upset about it. We had gone to a festival where they dressed up in their costumes the Friday before. My son was just over the flu and my daughter and I both had it. So we all felt pretty miserable anyways. To remedy our lack of candy, I picked up about five bags of candy.
Then I was a little overwhelmed with how much candy we had. I decided to make sweets with whatever I had on hand with the candy. I went with Twix bars because I was on a Twix binge. I had this recipe from Two Peas & Their Pod in my recipe binders and decided that it was the right choice. I brought this to a steering meeting and got the big compliment, "I'm afraid these brownies aren't very good. Let me take them off your hands for you." :) I always love when I get that...and it's good sarcasm! They were ooey, gooey, chewy, caramely, and had a delicious crunch of Twix in between all of that.

What you need:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups Twix candy bars, chopped
- 1/3 cup caramel topping
Melt butter and stir in sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs one at a time, then add cocoa.
Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to wet ingredients.
Stir in Twix bars and pour batter into a foil-lined, greased 9x13" pan.
Drizzle caramel topping over the batter and using a toothpick, swirl the caramel.
Bake at 350* for 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool.
Pull brownies out of pan using foil and cut into squares.
