Easy Sausage Pizza

Only 5 ingredients to a simple, yet delicious homemade pizza!

Easy Sausage Pizza // Only 5 ingredients to a simple, yet delicious homemade pizza! #recipe #pizza #sausage #easyrecipes

I found this pizza recipe while going through my Food Network Magazines. It was an ad page, but I won't lie, I love when ad pages have recipes! This particular ad page was for Johnsonville sausage and the recipe was a 5-ingredient pizza that I knew all of us would love. It's so simple and sometimes you really just need a simple recipe. I do like to vary our pizza nights so that we don't always have pepperoni, so this sausage and green bell recipe was a nice change of pace.

What you need:
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage (mild, hot, or sweet)
  • 1 recipe pizza crust dough for 2 pizzas or 2 premade pizza crusts
  • 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
Directions:
  1. Prepare pizza crusts and place on pizza pans. Parbake, if called for.
  2. Spread pizza sauce onto crusts.
  3. Top each pizza with 1 cup mozzarella.
  4. Pinch little 1-inch pieces of sausage onto each crust.
  5. Divide green peppers between the two pizzas and then top each with 1/4 cup mozzarella.
  6. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 8 to 12 minutes or until sausage is browned and is cooked through and cheese has melted.
  7. *Alternatively, you can cook the sausage in a skillet before placing on the pizza. Just watch to make sure you don't overcook it in the oven.
Recipe from Johnsonsville

The last pizza recipe I posted actually wasn't pizza, but Hasselback Pizza Chicken that has all sorts of pizza ingredients stuffed in sliced chicken. I would love to make a bunch of this Homemade Frozen Pizza recipe from Love & Olive Oil because nothing is more convenient than a frozen pizza!
