Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta Bake

This fantastic meal is fully cooked in the oven - pasta and all!

I know that the instructions say to do this recipe in a 9x13-icnh pan. I definitely would have been for whatever reason - I'm guessing my pan was probably dirty - and my cookware is safe to use in the oven. I did use foil instead of the glass lid. I cannot wait to make this again in the proper pan because it was so yummy. Kind of reminded me of what Hamburger Helper was meant to be, except it tastes way better and makes way more. I just love the idea of throwing everything into a pan and baking it. No fussing over the meal for an hour. It also tastes just like a cheeseburger.

What you need:

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup chopped dill pickles, plus some for garnish
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. ground dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cups dry macaroni pasta (about 12 oz)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 6 to 7 slices American cheese
  • 1/3 cup yellow onion, finely minced
  • Fresh parsley, minced for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together water, tomato sauce, pickles, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Crumble ground beef with your hands into smaller bits into the large bowl. Add macaroni and stir.
  3. Pour into a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover with foil.
  4. Bake in a preheated 475 degree oven for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and uncover. Stir well.
  6. Top with American cheese and bacon.
  7. Return to oven and bake uncovered for another 5 to 7 minutes.
  8. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes and top with minced onion, chopped pickles, and minced fresh parsley.
