Turkey Chili with Beans

Confession time: I have a problem. My problem is my appetite...coupled with cravings. I am seriously obsessed with food. In fact, right now while I'm typing up this post, I'm watching "Good Eats." I'm not really a bandwagon type person...I like to do my own thing and in my own way...but when everyone keeps talking about turkey chili...yeah, you best believe I am on that bandwagon.

What you need:
  • 1 large green bell pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 1/4 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 2 cans (15 oz. each) dark red kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. celery seeds (I used celery salt)
Directions:
Deseed and chop peppers; chop onions.
Heat oil in skillet and add turkey, peppers and onions together until turkey is cooked through and onion is tender. I cooked mine in my Dutch oven to minimize clean up because I'm lazy.

In a Dutch oven, combine all ingredients, including cooked turkey mixture, and simmer over medium-low heat for about 30 minutes.
I added this to the Linky Party @ Sugar and Dots
