Wendy's Chili

I previously tried a copycat recipe for Wendy's chili and it failed miserably. This one was a lot closer, although next time I may try jalapenos instead of green bells for a little kick :)

(Printable Version)
Recipe from Copykat.com

What you need:
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 qt. tomato juice
  • 1 (29 oz.) can tomato puree
  • 1 (15 oz.) can red beans, drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne
Directions:
  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet, draining after done.
  2. Place all ingredients into a large pot. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.
  3. Top with cheese and serve with crackers.

Ooooh, I haven't had Wendy's chili in a long time. And we have some cold weather coming up, so this sounds perfect!
