Countdown to 2020: Most Popular Recipes

It's time to share the best recipes of 2019 to ring in the new year!

Today's category is all about the Most Popular or Readers' Faves from our blog in 2019. I think it's a great way to end the year with a bang. We get to share the recipes that were huge successes during the year and I feel like you never know what will show up on the list.

I have always found this day really interesting because I can never really pinpoint what will make the list. I can barely pick out my favorites! This year I decided to share both the most popular recipes of the year and recipes that were posted in 2019. So not only do I get to see what was viewed a lot that I posted this year, but I also get to see which of my older posts were viewed throughout the current year. Spoiler alert: there are lots of copycat recipes!

Posted in 2019
  1. Mrs Field's Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Copycat - I am not surprised this recipe made the top list. It's an insanely good recipe. I have never met a person who didn't love cookie cake.
  2. Texas Roadhouse Steak Rub Copycat - This was a surprise to see on the list because it's a spice mix. I love a good homemade spice mix but I didn't think it would get many views at all when I posted it. But I don't post for views, I post to share recipes.
  3. Dump-and-Bake Alfredo Chicken Casserole - I honestly forgot all about this recipe and now all of us (because Nick and the big kids helped with tomorrow's post, so they saw today's) want it again immediately. It's a quick and pretty inexpensive dish to throw together.
  4. Spaghetti alla Carbonara - I think it's interesting to see this carbonara hit the most views list over the other one (which you'll see tomorrow!) but alas, here it is. It's great but it's really just a very basic carbonara. Which isn't knocking it's amazingness at all. Carbonara is awesome.
  5. One Pot Cabbage Casserole - I also admit that this one was a little surprising to see one the list too. Maybe there is a slew of folks who have never had success making cabbage rolls, so they hunted for a cabbage casserole that tastes like cabbage rolls without the rolling. That's what I like to think is the reason why this was on the popular list.
In general in 2019
  1. Easy Addictive Corn - Another recipe I found odd to be on the most viewed list. This recipe was viewed the most out of all the recipes on my blog this year. It's the perfect side dish though and really quick, so I don't blame anyone for seeing it and clicking through to see what it was all about. This recipe is from 2016.
  2. A&W Chili Dogs Copycat - I haven't been to an A&W in a while but we love chili dogs and I promised my oldest I would make this recipe and we would have root beer floats and we did. This recipe is from 2018.
  3. Copycat Popeye's Spicy Chicken - Oh yes, yes, yes. I definitely expected this recipe on the list after that whole chicken sandwich feud. I hope it continues because I love Popeye's and man alive, this copycat recipe reigns supreme in all the copycat recipes I've had. This recipe is from 2014.
  4. Mrs Field's Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Copycat - This recipe was viewed so much that it made the top 5 most viewed recipes of the year in total. Crazy, right?! Recipe from 2019.
  5. Caramel Frappe Copycat - Another classic copycat recipe that is just a good recipe. I haven't had an actual caramel frappe from McDonald's in many many years. I don't think I had one after I made the recipe. Do they still make them?! I don't know but this is a wonderful recipe from 2012.

In case you missed it...
