What you need:
- 8 slices of bread
- 2 to 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Dill pickles
- Butter
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green bell, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. garlic
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 tsp. mustard
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tsp. brown sugar
- Brown ground beef with onion and green bell over medium high heat; drain if needed.
- Add garlic, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar. Simmer for 30 minutes. Salt and pepper, to taste.
- Butter bread. Top with cheese, sloppy joe mixture, pickles, and then more cheese.
- Cook on medium heat until browned on both sides.

Never thought of making a sloppy joe into a grilled cheese. Will have to give that a try. I remember when I was young and my father, who was Army, would go out of town, we would eat what he didn't like! It was always fun!
