Instant Chai Tea Mix

Instant Chai Tea Mix - a perfect blend of spices for the tea junkies in your life #tea #beverages #mixToday's recipe is one that I, myself, still haven't tasted. I made it for my sister-in-law for Christmas after conferring with my mom-in-law to see what she is into nowadays. She got a tea tumbler too - which I might add, was pretty durn nifty! If I drank tea, I'd be jealous :) This mix was really easy to make and was easy to package up as a gift. I do want to make a batch for us because my husband loves chai tea. Who knows, maybe I will too!

(Print)
What you need:
  • 1 cup vanilla sugar (1 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup sugar: see directions)
  • 3/4 cup dry nonfat milk powder
  • 3/4 cup nondairy coffee creamer
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened tea
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper (optional)
Directions:
  1. Mix together 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup sugar. Spread onto a lined baking sheet and let dry 2 to 3 hours.
  2. In a food process, grind together all ingredients.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
  4. To make: add 2 to 3 tsp. mix to 1 cup hot water.
*We put it in a little Christmas tin, along with the recipe to make more :)

I never knew it was so simple to make chai mix! I've always just made the concentrate, but I'll have to give this recipe a try. :)
