Pasta Week: Ground Beef Stroganoff

Yum
Blog Update: Alright folks, I'm losing the FB page for good. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Pinterest, BlogLovin', etc. - pick your poison. Reaching 30 out of 1550 people who like my page seems pointless. ;)

Ground Beef Stroganoff - probably the very best stroganoff you'll ever have #recipe #pasta

I have been obsessing over my mom-in-law's stroganoff for years. I never liked it until I tried hers. I can never get her recipe just right, so I was on the lookout for something that would be close enough and this one was it. It just takes me "home", so to speak, as I lived with my in laws off and on since I was 18. It's very much a comfort food!

What you need:
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1 tsp. garlic
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Egg noodles, cooked
Directions:
Brown ground beef; drain and set aside.

Melt butter in skillet and cook onions until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Add flour and stir until smooth.
Slowly add beef broth and stir until smooth. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Turn down to medium heat and add sour cream and soup.

Season with salt and pepper and add beef back in.

Top cooked egg noodles with sauce.
